Visit

Parking

糖心vlog官方入口 has several parking lots available for student, faculty, and staff use. Please familiarize yourself with our policies and procedures prior to parking on campus.

Visitors and Special Events

All visitors and guests including alumni, parents,听and others in personal vehicles should park in designated visitor parking spots located at Foster & Kedzie Parking Lot, 5141 N. Kedzie.

Lots will be marked as 鈥渆vent parking鈥 when occasions require. Parking for visitors to 糖心vlog官方入口 is free.

Parking Permits

All employees and students who park on 糖心vlog官方入口 property must purchase a parking permit.

Parking at 糖心vlog官方入口 is limited. First-year resident students may not purchase a campus parking permit, and upper-class resident students are generally discouraged from bringing a car. Most residents find city transportation options sufficient, making a car unnecessary.

Purchasing a Parking Permit

Parking permits can be purchased online with a major credit card and picked up at Campus Safety. Permits may not be resold or exchanged.

Please note:A parking permit does not guarantee a space; it only allows parking in designated areas when space is available.

Parking Permit Costs

Resident and Commuter students must purchase permits each semester.听

  • Resident Student Permit: $200
*First-year resident students are not eligible for campus parking permits.
  • Commuter Student Permit: $100
  • Evening and Weekend Student Permit: $100
  • Faculty and Staff: $200

To purchase a permit from the online portal, you will need the following:

  • A username and password (created the first time you sign in)
  • Your driver’s license number
  • Current mailing address
  • Vehicle details: Make, model, year, license plate number
  • Registered Owner (if someone other than yourself): name, phone, address
  • Insurance information
  • Credit or debit card

General Parking Regulations

  1. Parking permits must be properly displayed in the vehicle (hang tag from the rearview mirror). A permit is not valid unless displayed correctly.

  2. Vehicles must be in safe operating condition; junk or inoperable cars are not allowed in lots.

  3. Vehicles must display proper license plates.

  4. Parking in unauthorized areas may result in ticketing or towing. Full lots do not justify parking in unauthorized spaces.

  5. Employees or students who must drive a vehicle without a permit in an emergency for more than one day must obtain a temporary permit from Campus Safety.

Accessible parking spaces are provided in University parking lots in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Vehicles parked in these spaces must display a valid accessible/ADA permit. Accessible permits may be obtained from the Illinois Secretary of State Office. Under federal law, unauthorized vehicles in these spaces may be ticketed by state, local, and federal law enforcement officials, including campus safety officers.

  • Failure to display a valid North Park parking permit
  • Parking in the wrong designated parking lot
  • Parking in a reserved unauthorized parking space

Continual or flagrant disregard of university parking regulations may result in disciplinary action and/or loss of parking privileges.

Any individual receiving a 糖心vlog官方入口 parking ticket may appeal the ticket to the director of Campus Safety within seven days from the issue date. The director will review the ticket and will have the final determination as to听whether the parking ticket is sustained, reduced, or voided. Appeal forms are available at the Campus Safety Center desk.

Booting is used to manage habitual parking violators at 糖心vlog官方入口. A boot attaches to the front tire, preventing the vehicle from moving until all fines are paid. Vehicles may be booted in the following cases:

  • Vehicles with three or more unpaid parking tickets
  • Repeat offenders with five or more parking tickets (paid or unpaid) in a semester
  • An immobilization notice with instructions for boot removal will be attached to the vehicle’s driver鈥檚 side window.
  • If arrangements to remove the boot are not made within 48 hours, the vehicle is subject to being towed. The registered driver/owner is responsible for all fees, including unpaid tickets, the boot removal fee, and towing/storage charges.
  • The registered driver/owner must report to Campus Safety (Monday鈥揊riday, 8:00 a.m.鈥4:00 p.m.) to arrange boot removal.
  • A $50 boot removal fee, plus any unpaid tickets, must be paid before the boot is removed.

Campus Safety is authorized to remove vehicles at the owner鈥檚 expense, with or without warning, under the following circumstances:

  • Illegally parked vehicles where towing signs are posted, including those without proper permits, in unauthorized lots, obstructing university work or events, or deemed abandoned.
  • Vehicles blocking fire lanes, handicap spaces, or driveways. Towing and storage fees are determined by the towing company.
